About Us
Faversham Judo Club was established in 1957.
We are a non-profit, family orientated organisation, run and staffed totally by volunteers, with a love of Judo.
We are dual affiliated club with the IBF (International Budo Federation) and the BJA (British Judo Federation).
All of our coaches are DBS checked and hold First Aid and Safe Guarding Certificates.

Head of IBF Judo UK
FJC Club President & Head Coach
Trevor Davies 7th Dan
Trevor is our senior head coach with many years of experience under his belt, he started judo in 1958. He holds a 7th Dan IBF, 1st Dan BJC mac, 3rd Dan jujitsu and 4th Dan Atemi jujitsu. Trevor has won multiple medals at home and abroad.
Trevor began coaching judo in 1972, and was a full-time coach for Kent County Council from 1973 to 1980. Since 1980 Trevor has been a coach at FJC formerly Faversham Budo School.
IBF Senior Coach

Sue Tanner 2nd Dan
Sue is FJC head junior coach and started judo at the age of 4.
Sue holds a 2nd Dan IBF, 1st degree in sambo and a green belt in jujitsu.
Sue has won world championship medals in Sambo and was IBF multination and British champion numerous times.

Robin Hadley 1st Dan
Rob started doing Judo in 2008 and took it up after introducing his 7 year old son to the mat. Rob has been coaching since 2014, and enjoys the fitness and conditioning aspect of the sport as well as the discipline.
Robs says his goal is to stay on the mat as long as Trevor our senior coach.

Joanne Hadley 1st Dan
Jo started Judo at the age of 7 until 16 years old and then took a long break. She came back to watch when her son was 7 and very soon was back on the mat training. Jo got her 1st Dan at 49 years old and says it's never too late to start

Adam Mitchell 1st Dan
Adam started judo when he was 9 and took a break when his son was born and restarted when he got his kids into judo. Adam really enjoys doing Kata and his aim is to master all 7 katas

Lisa Cartwright 2nd Kyu
Lisa has been doing judo since 2016. She started judo after sitting on the bench watching her boys and felt like it was something that she would really like to try.
